Lake View Primary Mission is academic and social growth for all!

I would like to welcome Parents, and Students, back to the 2019-2020 school year at Lake View Primary School. We hope you will join us in the efforts to support, and challenge your children in a safe, collaborative climate that communicates high expectations for social and academic growth.

As we begin a new school year, we find teachers establishing school expectations and rules using PRIDE.  In the most successful classrooms, teachers have established specific routines for the children to follow.  This means giving the children a specific place to find and keep materials, a set schedule for classroom instruction, etc.  These routines, blended with the teacher’s consistent expectations, form a smooth running classroom where the children have the security of understanding their environment and are reinforced positively for their contributions.

Please establish clear routines and expectations at home that support your child’s academic and social growth. Review the Handbook when it comes home.

·         Have clear bedtime routines. Set a time for your child to go to bed every night. Establish expectations for lights out, quiet, read for 10 minutes or just listen to quiet music.

·         Set a homework routine with established place and time to do the work.

·         Set clear expectations and routines for the morning in order to get them here on time every day. Lay out clothing, backpack, and jackets the night before.

·         Set goals that encourage your child to do their best work at school. Be supportive by asking questions, communicating with the teacher often, and reading all correspondence from school to be aware of information, changes, or specifics to meetings and deadlines.

Commitment to the best for our children on the part of parents, students and staff is the key to our success with the children we teach.  It is the hope of the staff that all parents will help us fulfill this commitment to excellence on behalf of ALL children at Lake View Primary School.  School and home can work together to build skills and knowledge, reinforce values, and develop a strong sense of self worth.  We must invest our time and energies in our nation’s most valuable resource - our children.
